I can't even begin to count the times
You helped ease my childish fears.
You hand has always guided

And you made the child believe
That the answer was always above.
You've always been an inspiration,
So compelling and so concise-
If I can be just half the person you are
I've achieved something in this life.
Your wisdom I've never questioned,
Your faith cannot be measured-
Simple words you've sometimes spoken
Have always been so treasured.
As time keeps passing and moving on,
I know there's more chapters behind each door,
When we're together I talk a whole lot less,
It's because I'm listening a whole lot more.

Friendship starts out like the spring,
Something that comes alive with warmth,
Blossoms with new found love
And grows with constant nurturing.
It eases into a brilliant summer,
It's comfortable with the heat,
It strengthens against the storm
And it survives the occasional rain.
Like fall, it begins to wind itself down,
And like the leaf that falls from the tree,
It sometimes struggles in the wind,
And gets lost in the shuffle of life.
Like winter it can shut itself in
And almost forget there's a world outside,
But as the thaw starts to settle in,
It once again eases into spring.
True friendship does not die,
Nor does it fade away,
It might sometimes struggle
Like the leaf in the wind,
Or shut itself in from the cold,
But it always remembers the warmth,
Survives the rain...
And it always blossoms again.

For listening to my problems whether big or small,
